When we were younger, my kid brother just worships me. Just 4 years younger than me, he thinks that i’m a genius and i know everything. I have a tendency to answer everyone’s questions. Its just boosts my self-confidence. :)

Once, we went to the airport to fetch an uncle who had come to Singapore for a visit. We took our cousin’s car. We were really thrilled. Although i don’t know my uncle very well, its just fun to go on trips.

Bro and me…

We reached Changi Airport. We passed right under the control tower. My bro and me looked on in awe - craning our necks as far as our heads could go before the tower disappears from the rear windscreen.

When we got out of the car at the car-park, my Bro ran to my side and asked me enthusiatically:

“Kor! (that’s Big Brother in Cantonese) What’s that huge ball on top of the tower?”

I was stumped. I replied: “I don’t know”

“But you say you know everything one what?”

That bruised my ego quite a fair bit. I quickly retorted…

“Of course i know what it is! I just pretend not to know.”

“What is it then?” He challenged.

“Why its a CONTACT BALL of course!”

My uncles and older cousins chuckled. I knew i got it wrong and i flushed red with embarassment.

I read from somewhere that moments that causes pain in our bodies causes the brain to release certain chemicals that somehow leaves an imprint in our memory… perhaps that’s why we remember painful (and embarassing) moments more than others. ^_^
