One of the few things people warn you about Australia is to keep away from spiders for they are venomous.
Ha ha… we were working late one night and we found a small colony (ok, 3 lah) of Huntsman spiders crawling outside our apartment - at the balcony.
Last week we had iguanas and tonight we have huntsman spiders! Checkout the biggest one man!

One of the smaller ones.

The biggest one is the size of my palm (with legs extended)

A close-up shot.
Fortunately they kept outside… we had the glass doors closed tightly for the rest of the evening.
** Sadly, I did eventually killed 3 of them the following week cos they ended up inside the apartment. **

Omg…!!! They are SCARY and huge!! I thought they were the typical tiny ones anyone would find in their houses most of the time when I read the title. How long did you leave that area where they were nesting untouched?
Yikes… scary. gives me the shivers.
God blind me!
I’m glad to live in Italy where spiders are really not a problem!
You’ve been tagged!
My word! That is one scary looking spider. We have very large spiders here in Texas. Big black hairy things… enough to give you bad dreams for a long time. They are called Tarantula the common name for a group of “hairy” (so called, because of the numerous hair-like setae covering their cuticle), often very large spiders belonging to the family Theraphosidae, of which approximately 900 species have been identified.
Anyway I don’t like spiders of any kind. Some folks around here will pick up a large Tarnantula a play with it. Dang fools I say!
You should have thrown a coin next to it for the photo to reveal the size. Most Singaporeans wouldn’t know how big they could get.
Uhm, Michael… Are you saying these were (and are) in Singapore?
Ahem, okayyyy… Do you think they will go all the way to the 11th floor??
