Well, as u would know by now, i was a fan of kung fu movies when i was younger (i still am). I especially love the Cantonese TVB period drama serials that we get to watch on VHS. I love the special effects (although primitive by today’s standards)… Laser beams seems to shoot out of their palms, index finger and their pinky (seriously!). Red, blue or green colored lightning beams.

I was thinking, “Wow, Kung Fu masters those days are really powerful… i wonder if i can develop that “Qi” too?” (more…)

I walked out to the airport arrival hall to be greeted by a warm breeze. The wind hugged my face - ah… how nice it is walk down the streets without moisturizer lotion on my face. But then the droplets of sweat trickling down my spine and wetting my shirt snapped me back to reality - i was back in hot and humid Singapore!
I hopped onto my Dad’s 7-seater cab (he’s a taxi driver) and we were on our way home. I had been travelling out of Singapore quite often since i took on the new job - i had been to the UK, Austria, Australia, Hong Kong and Macau.
I was never one to miss home or the Singapore food when i’m out of town. But this time was different for 2 reasons - it was the longest i’ve ever stayed at one location (14 days at Gold Coast, Australia) and it came at a time where i really wanted to be home. (more…)

Ever punched someone before? Well, i have… Well, not deliberately at least.
It was in Primary School. I was primary 2 or 3 in Jin Tai Primary when i got to know the “victim”. I can’t remember his name. But i think there’s a “Loong” in his last name.

Reading Sparklette Veron’s post on our Childhood Memories, reminds me of an incident in my youth.
Remember those little Nintendo LCD games like Donkey Kong or Parachute? Well, i had a friend in Primary School called Ming Ming. He had one of those games. He was our favourite “rich-kid” in the class. He was the “have it all” and “know it all”. He was the first to have his own Computer at home (computers were expensive those days).

My family had a really cute term for “going on a road trip”. My Dad calls it “sek fong” - literally “eating wind” in Cantonese.

Once, i took it literally and opened my mouth really wide, attempting to eat all the air rushing thru the open window. Hee hee… ended up with really parched lips.
Note: This post is part of a series of recycled posts from my old Blog. They are primarily about my childhood and adolescence times. 11 Parts in all. Enjoy!
