My first entrepreneurial act as a child was in Primary School - Primary 2 or 3 . I remember watching on TV, the public drawing of lucky draw prizes on a Channel 8 Variety Show. I was awed by the huge prizes that they were giving away.

I wanted to do that too.

My earliest childhood memory is of my kindergarten days. As with most lower middle-class families, i attended the PAP Kindergarten in the HDB heartlands (in my case, the Kim Seng area).

“No Granny, you can’t push tooth paste back into the tube once its out!” exclaimed my brother and me.

It was a lazy sunday afternoon at home. My bro and me were having some fun teasing Granny. She loves to play with her grand children. She has 3 surviving children of her own, my Dad’s the youngest and the only surviving son. My uncles all died young from disease and stuff. She never talks about it. Why i became an entrepreneur? (Part 3)

Coming into year 2 of the business, i was faced with a dilemma… the company was growing and i needed additional fund injection to grow the business.

The projects were coming in fast and we need to hire staff. With new headcount will require new computers and more furniture / office desk space. More desk space means i have to pay rent soon. I have to get a proper company bank account (to start write invoices payable to my company name). The company was making money - but just enough to keep us afloat, not enough to grow.
